Frequently Asked Questions:
What is the quality like? Our digital
printing image quality is comparable to all other traditional
lithographic offset printing.
Can you print from film or camera ready artwork? No. Our
production process is completely digital. We only print from digital
files.
Can you match my color exactly? We work hard to match your
color. The digital printing process is designed for CMYK inks.
Some Pantone colors are often difficult to match in a CMYK environment.
Can you print RGB? No. RGB are not standard printing colors.
What paper can run on your presses? Our presses can print
on any substrate from an onion skin of .0024 in. to board in thickness'
up to .012 in.
Can I proof my files before going to press? Absolutely.
All jobs include a one-off color proof from our Indigo press on
the final paper and Ink colors.
What size files can we e-mail? If you have a relatively small file that you think can be e-mailed (8MB or less), you can compress it using a utility such as StuffIt, PCZip, or other compression software and email or FTP it to us.
What do you need besides the document in a file? The document
itself plus all the files that are referenced or used in the document.
Please send along the last, approved laser copy of the content.
What's the best way to save images? 300 dpi tiffs are recommended
for most page layout programs to produce the highest quality printing.
Remember to crop your original to the size you need to save space
in transfer and to ease the time the file is imaged at press.
What file formats do you recommend for
printing? Native Quark Xpress files. Native means it is the cleanest form of that application's file, i.e., not Quark EPSs or PostScript files. We can accept any number of page layout files, we are not limited by our equipment or software, but we do prefer Quark Xpress.
